Have no idea how Jim does his bird photography (particularly of the hummingbirds). There's so many bird photographers on Flickr but they don't carry that feeling of closeness to the birds like Jim's photos. The bird portraits are up close and gives you that very intimate feeling as a viewer. I can tell it requires much patience to set up the camera and have the bird land on the correct spot and stare in the direction of the camera. That's why I follow Jim and know his photos will only get better and more creative~
