I'm an LA-based professional portrait / fine art / event & editorial photographer of 10 years--& this Flickr has essentially nothing to do with that (Sorry Flickr.)

Prior to earning my photography degree, prior to Instagram or Facebook or camera phones, Flickr was the only game in town.

 

And despite many FAR more recent photographic activity (www.jessicadewinter.com, have I mentioned?) due to the vintage, Olden Dayes nature of this Flickr (Est. 2004…A Simpler Time) became & remains TO THIS VERY DAY my 1st search result, despite my efforts (and despite it consisting of, in large part, mostly just the repository into which I dump photos of my cat; old/bad travel snaps from before I learned what composition meant; and the odd photo backup) Google's hurtful insistence on making it my 1st search result means....here is where we find ourselves. It's no one's fault, really.

(Aside from, y’know. Google. Goddamn you, Google! Why you gotta do me this dirty!?)

 

Again: personal photo repository, into which I unceremoniously dump every photo that has no business being anywhere else. For the most part, nothing's edited, not much is tagged, &--JUST AS PERSONAL POLICY!-- nothing's Interesting!! (I wasn't kidding about those photos of my cat.)

 

Run while you still can.

 

HOWEVER.....Please note that all photos remain ©Jessica Watkins DeWinter, & that my Creative Commons is Attribution / Non-Commercial / No Derivs.

That means you can use it if you're not making money from it, & that YOU MUST INCLUDE A COPYRIGHT CREDIT, and (here’s where certain entities seem to REALLY get confused) YOUR USAGE OF THE PHOTO MUST LINK BACK TO THE ORIGINAL PHOTO, IN ORDER FOR YOUR USAGE TO BE A LEGAL. Not knowing HTML isn’t an excuse anymore, dudes! You also can't edit, change or alter it in any way without express permission, in writing.

 

Seriously, guys. Be cool. I don’t actually ENJOY suing people: it’s a huge hassle and an overall pain in my ass, so everybody just play nice, please.

 

If your intended usage falls outside these parameters, just hit me up. (It’s cheaper than you think to license photos, and for the most part, I simply wanna know how it’s being used. If the cause isn’t evil, and you're not, like, Citibank or Pfizer—or, I don’t know….perhaps that DASTARDLY GOOGLE—I generally grant permission immediately and without fuss.

Sometimes, without any $ at all. :)
