At least half of what makes a good photograph is composition, something that can't easily be taught. Jen has a damn good eye for a photograph, whether a snapshot or a set shot. She has a good feel for angles and use of light. She doesn't have fancy equipment, but it's truly hard to tell in many of her photos. A better camera and/or lenses can only improve the technical side of photography. She has a solid grip on the soul of photography; the intangibles are so much more important. And I'm happy to have gotten to know such a funny, friendly, smart and caring woman and mother via the 365 Days project.

The fact that she can come up with such amazing portraits without real lights, a good editting program or very expensive camera is nothing short of amazing. I only wish she had more time do more. That said, even the candids she takes daily of herself and her son are fun and well thought out. I am simply amazed by what she comes up with every day.
