Jen's art history...

My love for photography really began a bit in jr. high when I started taking art classes with my all time favorite teacher. My art teacher was also the photo teacher so I began seeing the dark room and some of the cool things photography involves. So in high school I continued on with taking art classes but also started taking photo classes using my dad's old Nikromat camera. My Uncle (an involved photographer) had handed down his old Nikromat and lenses as he had upgraded to a new system. I loved using this old school, fully manual camera. I took some photography in college as I majored in art education with a minor in visual communication at Northern Arizona University.

So I love many forms of art- painting, drawing, graphic design, and of course, PHOTOGRAPHY! I've survived with decent point and shooters, like a Canon Powershot, for a while now- but FINALLY decided it's about time to get a bit more serious! I mean, I do love this, right? So I saved up, got a Canon Rebel XSi and am loving it. So far the lens collection includes a 50mm f/1.4 USM, EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6, and a macro 100mm f/2.8 USM. I love the outdoors and capturing candid moments with people. I love moments of truth, redemption, and stories behind art.

It's fun connecting and learning from other photography enthusiasts as well, I still consider myself fairly new, especially to the DSLR.

I work for Young Life in Davis, CA. Love Jesus, art, photography, music, the outdoors, and playing with the camera- to name a few!
