Happily married with two children living in the suburbs!!!
As with most families, my son & daughter keep me very busy, along with running a household & working part time, I still try to take a little time each week to do the things that I love. Usually the things I love to do are the things I do with my children. My little boy loves craft, anything with paper, scissors, glue & paint, he''ll be the first one to the table.
I love going to markets, op shops & garage sales (love a good bargain). I absolutely love cooking & think baking is wonderful therapy. My favourite colour is Green (any shade just not fluro), I also love Pink, Blue, Red, White & earty tones & neutrals. I'm not a big fan of orange. I have enjoyed many types of craft over the years like ceramic painting, glass mosaics & paper craft.
I did a little bit of basic sewing in school during my teens but that's where I left it. My dear father bought me a sewing machine during that time, thinking it would be a great tool for a young lady (as he put it) but at that time my real interests were in drama.
It wasn't until I had my first child (almost 5 years ago) that my interest in machine sewing was rekindled. With the help of a friend with a sewing machine, over the last few years I had made childrens pyjama pants & aprons. Although, my biggest breakthrough came just before last Christmas when I joined a craft group. I now have taken up machine sewing on my own after years of wanting to do it but not having the courage, not until I join my lovely craft group! Each time we meet, I come away felling very inspired, full of ideas & just so luckly to be involved with a group of ladies that are so willing to help this little beginner.
The sweetest thing though is that my very first sewing project after I joined my craft group was a toddlers summer dress which I had made on the sewing machine my dear father bought for me when I was a teenager. A 25 year old sewing machine used for the first time just a couple of months ago. If only my dad could see me now!
