'Tripping over all the edges of reality'

Hengelo, 1959. Education in photography and graphic design at the AKI in Enschede.

Photography and photo editing, inspired by surrealism and nature.

After graduating, I worked with a 4 x 5" technical camera and photographed industrial landscapes: remains of industry, abandoned buildings and sites, in black and white. During those years - the 80s and 90s - I also was active within the mail art network sending out collages and self-portraits, edited in the darkroom using filters, or afterwards with scissors and glue.

Today, using photoshop as a tool, landscapes and self-portraits regularly appear in both surreal photomontages and minimally edited black-and-white photography.
