In the time that I have had the pleasure to know Jola, I have watched her develop her love of photography here on Flickr. She shares from her heart and from her life. I marvel at her beautiful and touching photos of her beloved homeland and enjoy those very much, however her pictures transcend borders, she is a photographer for us all. Her intimate portraits of her lovely home and family make me feel as though I am a welcomed guest, or even more than a guest, she makes me feel like I am important person in her life. I am humbled by this wonderful feeling she has shared through her words and photos. She has taken the time and hard work to learn other languages so that she can communicate and share her life and experiences. If only more were like her, the world would be a much more pleasant place to interact in, online and in the person-to-person world. Friendly but not superficial, Jola is intelligent and capable. She communicates by using her intelligence and is not afraid to voice her opinions. Her faith is a cornerstone in her life, but she never uses it as a divisive gesture, but rather as a beautiful miracle to be shared. I welcome all interactions with her, especially through this medium of photography which she loves, because I have come to love seeing the world through her eyes. A beautiful gift.

Our friend Jola (I say "our friend" because anyone with whom she comes in contact must be immediately taken by her honest personality) is one of the most likable persons I've met on Flickr or anywhere. I find her to be unassuming, nice to everyone, inquisitive, intelligent, and very brave. Being a good person seems so natural for her; she forces nothing and accepts kindness with gratitude, modesty, and humility. She finds strength in her faith, her family, her friends, and from within herself and her resolve has been tested and proven. Her eye for beauty is reflected in her wonderful photographs and words. She thinks she struggles with the English language, but her writing is so easy to understand and very refreshing to read. In this virtual world, it is sometimes difficult to to be sure of someone, but with this young woman I feel I have a friend. Jola, you are a gift; the kind of present friends need and appreciate.
