My name is Jeff, my handle "jefrs" is a mash-up of my name and initials, I've been "jefrs" like forever on-line. I've been on Flickr since 2009 or earlier but my date got reset to 2013 when BTinternet and Yahoo/Flickr got divorced.

I am a professional physicist with an engineering background, ostensibly retired, and I live in the south of England.

I've had a camera since I was a toddler, starting with Box Brownies before 1960 moving up through cameras including Agfa ISO-Pak (Instamatic) and 35mm compact Chinon CE5 SLR, Samsung AF-Zoom C2040Z film compact and early Minolta Dimage and Olympus Camedia digital cameras to Olympus and Panasonic micro four thirds. Now they have caught up with the quality of film and the price has dropped I am taking more interest in taking photographs again rather than the obligatory holiday snaps.

Current cameras include Olympus Camedia C2040Z, Panasonic FZ200, Panasonic G5, Olympus E-PL1, Panasonic GX7, Panasonic GH4, Olympus E-PL7, Panasonic G6, Olympus E-M5ii, The Chinon CE-5 35mm SLR is working again too, plus several museum pieces. Update E-PL1 has gone as has G6. New toys G7, G9 and PEN=F
