As a boy raised in the fjords of Southeast Alaska, Jeff spent much of his childhood exploring the remote passages and inlets that surrounded his island home. In his twenties Jeff travelled extensivly around the Pacific Rim working as a Commercial Fisherman, Greenpeace & Rainbow Warrior Environmentalist and Ecotourism Marine Wildlife Guide.

To date, Jeff has traveled by sea to nearly every major Pacifc island archipelago, from the Bering Strait to the Antactic Pennisula.. His passion for Pacific marine wildlife has inspired explorations of the Walrus breeding grounds in the Bering Strait, Grizzly Bear watching in the Kenai Pennisusla and many trips to the Antarctic.

Also intersted in primitive pacific cultures, Jeff studied Polynesian cultures for three years in the South Pacific.

Working first as an assistant to Archaeologist Edmundo Edwards in Tahiti and the Marquesas, Jeff later lived on Easter Island where he worked as a cultural guide in the Archaeolgy Park and World Heritage Site.

Jeff’s photography is Inspired by his late Grandfather Bill J Lorton who was an accomplished military & Civiliian

photographer. Jeff only recently began photo documenting some of the finer moments of his time on the sea and has been fortunate to witness thrilling encounters with ocean predators and other exciting wildlife

Several of his photos have been turned into conservation themed posters that celebrate our planets unique and magnificent wild sea creatures.

Currently Jeff is partner at LynkSnap™ a Portland, Oregon

based mobile marketing company that specializes in advertising campaigns that creatively use QR Codes.
