During the 1970's & 80's , my Dad and I worked (actually played) at the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome in Red Hook, NY - just outside the town of Rhinebeck, NY. We were part of the ground crew which was a great experience & real fun!!

The "Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome" is a World Famous vintage air show - a " Museum in the Sky" of Pioneer and World War I airplanes that was founded by the late Cole Palen.

This photograph was taken by my dad in the early 1980's. I'm standing next to the Fokker Dr. I triplane at the

Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome.

The landing gear collapsed on take off run. This aircraft was built by Cole Palen in 1967. Cole flew this aircraft in the show for twenty years. This Fokker Dr. I can be seen in the museum at Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome.
