I have been observing with my Orion XT8 telescope since the summer of 2011 and have started taking pictures on since may 2012. I built an equatorial tracking platform for it however it is not guided and it's tracking appears to be good for up to 5 second exposers depending on magnification. I started using an IPhone to take afocal images and videos and have recently purchased a Canon T3i DSLR and use eyepiece projection. I will not be able to do prime focus until I get a low profile focuser or move the primary mirror up.

The inspiration for my site name came from a German children's book I had as a child. This book (Struwwelpeter) had a story in it called Hans guck in die Luft (stare at the sky) in which a boy called Hans always looked up in the sky and bad things happened to him.
