my blog:
No you can't use my work for FREE on your website.
My name is Jeanique, I'm 26 years old and I live in the Netherlands with my love Emiel, our dog Benthe and 2 cats Sterre & Koika. I got diagnosed PDD-Nos/ Asperger syndrome when I was about 9 years old, but besides that I'm a pretty normal young woman ;)
I studied multimedia design at the Graphic lyceum in Amsterdam and graduated in 2007, with film as my main major. My photography is completely autodidactism, and I still need to learn a lot!
In October 2007 I had a nervous breakdown, had to quit my study to become a drama therapist and all I could do was sleep. A year long. In October 2008 I started taking selfportraits, a 365 days project to keep myself busy and have some distraction from my depression. It was the best therapy I could ever have and it brought me beautiful things that made things a little lighter.
I felt the urge to share my story because I hope that there are people that recognize some of their own experiences and maybe have comfort out of my journey.
It seems like I've found 'my thing' in photography, especially when it comes to selfportraits. And I feel really blessed by that. It's my passion, it brings me joy and it gave me the drive to carry on. I can't imagine a life without my camera and I hope the creative flow will never leave.
Since my 365 project I've been published several times and they asked me to tell my story on 2 Dutch radio stations.
I'm sorry if I didn't add back you as a contact. I get many requests and my contactlist is already too big to comment/check on all of you. So mostly I only add the ones that comment me several times.
Also when it comes to e-mailing back, I'm really bad at that!!
There's copyright on all of my photos.
please don't put any of my work on your blog/website/tumblr whatever without asking. It's annoying.

This is my soulsister. She is beyond talented. Her ideas are wicked. I love her creativity. She's a tough one, a little fighter who's been through a lot. She doesn't give up, she's stubborn and positive. She has the most expressive eyes, they're full of life and childlike innocence. I love that about her. Her heart is … Read more

She doesn't give up, she's stubborn and positive. She has the most expressive eyes, they're full of life and childlike innocence. I love that about her. Her heart is huge and full of love. She always manage to put a smile on my face. You call her Jeanique, I call her my Hunny Bunny. Or simply just "soulsister".
