I didn't do the film thing with "big" cameras, but bought my first DSLR in 2009. Tried out various forms of taking pictures before settling on the most challenging, difficult and expensive (in terms of kit!) hobby of wildlife photography.

I have gradually improved over the years even though it's still not easy to put all you know together when you press that shutter button. Of course it's not just about the technicalities, it's about learning to get yourself in the right places at the right times. There is certainly an element of luck involved in capturing some of those rare moments, especially as I'm usually only out a few hours on a weekend. Aided and abetted by my wonderful wife we try to put ourselves in a position to see and photograph wildlife, mainly birds, whenever we can. So if you want to give it a go remember it is challenging and can get expensive, but it is very rewarding when you get it right! Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoy my stream!

Many thanks to everyone who takes the time to view, favourite or comment on my images, it really is very much appreciated and is what makes Flickr enjoyable and worthwhile!
