I've been taking photographs since I was about 4 or 5 years old, initially with an Agfa box camera, then moved up to a Boots 'Pacemaker' that was also made by Agfa. I've never really focused on the technical side of photography and have used a camera initially to record and then to interpret my view of the world. As a consequence my photographs are quite an eclectic bunch, although a sense of place, moods and people predominate.
I've started putting photos from the 60s, 70s and 80s on Flickr, but have limited the accessibilty to these. If you would like to see them please drop me a Flickrmail.
I've had a variety of cameras over the years, Olympus OM1 & OM4 and in the 1980s was very much into being in the right place at the right time for a quick photojournalistic capture. I took a lot of political stuff, strikes, demos and other street scenes. In the digital age I now use a Nikon D300, Nikon D810 and a LUMIX LX 100 as well as my trusty iPhone.
I live in Yorkshire and enjoy travelling around and as I do I take a camera with me. My work involves a lot of moving around and so I try to gather some of the things that interest and entertain me en route.
During lockdown I've stayed more local ~ rediscovering old photos and giving them the kiss of life
