I am an Indian guy, originally from Mbeya in the southern highlands of Tanzania (I was born there) but have spent most of life in the UK. I got my inspiration for travel from a close friend of mine, a South African guy, Myles Sandison, an intrepid traveller, who along with another traveller, was robbed and killed in Kom Ombo, Egypt in Dec 1986. I started travelling myself in 1988, initially visiting main tourist sites but gradually got more and more adventurous with experience. I have now travelled to many countries around the world and love all aspects of travel. However, my main passions are (a) trekking in the mountainous regions (b) observing volcanoes (active and inactive ones) and geothermal landscapes and (c) watching wildlife (from the smallest insects to the largest mammals). I have trekked in quite a lot of the mountain ranges around the world (including but not limited to the Himalayas, Karakorum, Andes etc.) and have visited countless number of volcanoes, some spewing out lava or ash/noxious gas clouds to those that are now extinct and have left behind vast fields of lava or fields that are now covered in lush vegetation. I am also very fond of visiting churches, temples, mosques and other religious places, which apart from Hindu temples, I find very calming. I am an amateur photographer and am constantly learning and getting better. The photographs that I have uploaded on this site are from the time when I first acquired a digital camera in 2002. Please note that all my photographs are copyrighted, please do not use them for any purposes without asking me first. The chances are that if they are not going to be used for commercial purposes I will probably say yes if you ask. Also note that the descriptions I have given for each of the photographs, have been acquired by researching many different sources including guidebooks and various internet sites (primarily Wikipedia, www.volcanodiscovery.com, www.inaturalist.org and himalaya-info.org/, which I would like to acknowledge). With reference to wildlife, at times, I have not been able to identify the species due to a wide variation in individual colour and characteristics (primarily for insects and birds). If I have made any errors, please do let me know, I would really appreciate it.
