Art has brought a great deal of joy in my life. I started drawing before I could read and started my first art class before I could multiply in my head. It has always consumed me. I would spend hours looking at pictures trying to figure out how I would draw it as a child. In 4th grade I won my first 1st place art award for our county wide Drug Free poster contest. I didn’t pick up a paintbrush until late sophomore year of high school, but from then on painting was my new love. The summer before my senior year of high school I was invited to be a participant in Georgia’s Governor’s Honors Program for art after a rigorous application process. From there I would become a drawing and painting major at Georgia State University, the school I have learned to love.
