I am an artist who after a 15 year hiatus has finally started painting again. I use an ipad as my chosen tool to make art with and feel that this has changed my life! I am making painting all the time and am able to produce a great deal of work in a short space of time.

The ipad suits me also, because I am a disabled person, so the smaller scale of the screen has enabled me to work on any scale, due to the fact that the paintings are then printed to any size I wish.

The key themes of my work are my disability, the way I view myself, the past, nostalgia, pain and the positive way I try and deal with it.

Although the paintings can be dark, I hope that they also have elements in them that make you smile.

The work is developing all the time and I am seeing new possibilities each day.

I have recently been appointed as the first Artist in Residence for Wakefield Trinity Wildcats RLFC, which has been funded by Arts Council England. This will last for a year.

I have also been funded by Arts Council England to take iPads into schools in Lincolnshire, and beyond, which is linked to my exhibition at the National Centre for Craft & Design. This show opens 27th July 2012 and runs until September 2012.

I've also been shortlisted for an international art competition, organised by Culture Cloud. Please see link www.artfinder.com/work/some-kind-of-ugly-beauty-jason-wil...
