I love the outdoors and have a passion for capturing the beauty of the natural world. I shoot primarily large format film( 4x5 ) with an old field camera. The amount of detail captured in a large format transparency cannot be matched( yet ) in the digital realm.

I have also grown to appreciate the slow and methodical approach to capturing images and feel I have matured as a photographer in doing so. The view camera makes you think about every shot you are going to take, both because of the slowness of operation and the cost of the film.

That said, I don't knock the digital world and do shoot a Canon 40d dSLR as well, primarily for telephoto work( wildlife, etc ). I look forward to the day when I can get the same quality of images from digital as I get from large format.
