My name is Jason Lee. I'm a landscape photographer from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, which is located on treaty 1 territory, traditional territory of the Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene Peoples, and on the National Homeland of the Red River Métis. I have a strong connection to nature, the outdoors, and my home as a Metis person and I use my love of photography to capture breathtaking images of the natural world and showcase the beauty of Western Canada. My Fine Art Nature Photography conveys the essence of each location I visit, whether it’s the rugged beauty of a mountain range, the tranquility of a lake at sunrise, or the raw power of a thunderstorm.

From a young age, I’ve been fascinated by the art of photography. As a child, I would take my point and shoot film camera, and eventually digital point and shoot everywhere and capture anything that caught my eye. In high school, I landed a part-time job working with a sports and event photographer, which allowed me to gain valuable experience in portrait and event photography. It was during this time that I also honed my skills in digital photo editing and learned about the inner workings of the industry.

My first DSLR was a Canon AE-1 that belonged to my parents, in 2008 I bought my first Digital DSLR, the Canon Rebel XT but it wasn't until Fall of 2009 when I bought my Canon 50D and my first few L Glass that I seriously got into photography. Since then I've traveled tens of thousands of km by truck and snowmobile capturing the beauty of mother nature.

I continue to explore the outdoors, seeking out new opportunities to capture the beauty of nature. I'm always in search of the opportunities to capture the serenity of a majestic sunset or sunrise, the awe inspiring Aurora or Milky Way, or chasing storms to capture the raw power and beauty of a prairie thunderstorm.
