Jann is not only a perceptive photographer. He knows Flickr better than anyone alive. He's been around here since before I was born. He knows where the bodies are buried. He socializes with everybody, knows all their foibles and epitomizes community here on F. When I first came here there was a big community going on. There were many greats posting. Now patrolling the hallways of F can be somewhat lonely. But Jann keeps the fires burning and I wish him well in the Great White North.

To me, Jan is almost a thinking man's journey with camera's. I admire his compositional style and the way he notices details, which he shoots in a curious, neutral style but framed in a warm comfortable manner which is pleasing and inviting. To me, Jan is almost a thinking man's journey with camera's. I admire his compositional style and the way he notices details, which he shoots in a curious, neutral style but framed in a warm comfortable manner which is pleasing and inviting. He has a really nice way with color and a good eye for color subtleties, saturation, and I also particularly like his b&w fuji g617 shots. He is very comfortable shooting scenes in Canada, and I look forward to more gear shots from him and more outdoor nature scenes. He has a solid feel for nature. His photos are not postcards, they have a great feel and calm to them.
