Ich portraitiere hauptsächlich Menschen und halte mich häufiger in sogenannten „lost places“ auf. In beiden Fällen versuche ich den zum Zeitpunkt vorhandenen Ist-Zustand zu konservieren, da sowohl die Portraitierten, als auch die „lost places“ permanenter Veränderung und stetem Wandel unterliegen. Was meine Portraits betrifft, interessieren mich besonders jene Menschen, die, entweder selbstgewählt oder durch falsche Entscheidungen, ein Leben abseits vorgegebener Normen führen. Menschen mit Gesichtern, die Geschichten vom Leben erzählen. Mich faszinieren die Außenseiter, Paradiesvögel, die Vergessenen und Abgehängten, Menschen mit Brüchen in der Biografie, die, die am Rand unserer Wohlstandsgesellschaft und doch mitten unter uns ihr Dasein fristen. Das Schöne, das zweifelsohne jedem Menschen Inne wohnt, herauszuarbeiten und dabei zu hoffen, dass die zu Portraitierenden für einen kurzen Moment einen Blick in ihr Innerstes zulassen, ist dabei mein großes Ziel.

Das Hochgefühl beim Betreten eines „lost places“ zu beschreiben wäre müßig, denn nur Jünger des „Urban Exploration“ Kults können diesen Moment tatsächlich nachempfinden. Ich versuche mit den Aufnahmen die den Orten eigene Magie einzufangen, versuche Stille und Stillstand abzubilden und unter zu Hilfenahme verschiedener Werkzeuge atmosphärisch verdichtete Fotografien zu schaffen.

I mainly portray people and often stay in so-called "lost places". In both cases, I try to preserve the present state of affairs at the time, since both the portrayed and the "lost places" are subject to constant change and constant change. As far as my portraits are concerned, I am particularly interested in those people who, either by their own choice or by wrong decisions, lead a life away from given norms. People with faces who tell stories about life. I'm fascinated by the outsiders, birds of paradise, the forgotten and abandoned, people with breaks in biography, those who live their lives on the fringes of our affluent society and yet among us. The beauty that undoubtedly lives in every human being, to work out and to hope that the persons to be portrayed allow for a brief moment a look into their innermost, is my great goal.

To describe the exhilaration of entering a "lost places" would be idle, because only disciples of the "Urban Exploration" cult can actually empathize with this moment. I try to capture the places own magic with the photographs, trying to depict silence and standstill and create using the help of various tools atmospherically condensed photographs.
