Jane Waterbury is a fine art photographer based in San Francisco.

She strives to show the beauty of degraded, damaged, and altered landscapes. Her photos emphasize composition, tone, and texture rather than showing the location. Influenced by Rothko and Japanese woodblocks, she strives to create images that create subtle emotional reactions from the viewer.

Jane first picked up a camera in high school and credits photography and fine art with lifting her out of poverty and giving her a better life.

Jane received her BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute. She has received an Honorable Mention in the Nature / Trees category in the 2024 Prix de la Photographie de Paris and a Bronze award in the Non-Professional Landscape category in the 2025 Exposure One Awards. Her work has been shown in numerous national and international juried shows.
