The first thing you need to know about me is that I'm obsessed with photography! Ever since I was little I have been fascinated with capturing the moments of NOW and preserving them into the future.
Right now I am in the middle of the "Daily Shoes Project" which is a personal art photo project in which I illustrate the constant change and beauty of each day by shooting the same pair of Chuck Taylor shoes hanging on a power line near my house. It sounds boring, but check out what it has become!

I'm a lifelong picture-taker who took a plunge into the digital SLR revolution with a slightly obsolete but still awesome Nikon D70.
I soon became the proud owner of a Nikon D90, which at the time was by far the greatest piece of equipment I had ever held in my own 2 hands. I fell in LOVE with that camera.
Soon the path of photography began to take me to incredible places! I shot a wedding within 3 months of buying my first SLR and since then have been backstage at concerts, in the middle of raging fires, on the rooftops of buildings, shooting weddings in Central Park NYC and all points in between! Photography is magic. Capturing light is what I do.
I take a camera with me pretty much wherever I go. Photography has definitely enhanced my life greatly. I'm always trying to think of new ways to explore photography, so my interests have and will continue to evolve over time. I also have a bit of A.D.D., so I jump from trend to trend sometimes (HDR, macro, landscapes, portraits, sports, etc.)...but I like it like that.
I have taken many paths in this creative endeavor:
I've delved into the world of Lomo/Toy cameras, and I love my Holga but don't get to use it as much as I'd like. I've also discovered HDR photography and fell in love with that. Somewhere along the way, I found and developed a "Painting with Light" style that I can't get enough of.
In 08 I also got the opportunity to shoot my first Division I football game and LOVED it!
Every dime I spend on photo gear, it seems, is the best investment I can make with my money.
I hope I come out the other side with some new skills and interests, and a new and fresh approach to photography. I think by focusing my intent in this way I can better discover what my niche in this art form may be. I've already begun to pre-visualize the images in my mind much more than I usually do when shooting....
Anyway, come join me on this journey! Follow along with my trail, or start your own project and let me know so I can keep up with yours!
Have an amazing day, and capture it!
"Light makes photography. Embrace light. Admire it. Love it. But above all, know light. Know it for all you are worth, and you will know the key to photography."

I have spent hours trying to teach myself from books and the like. Photography is such an art and in my opinion Jamie shows what can be achieved with hard work. His photostream is so impressive I would encourage you all to spend an hour to see what can be done through a lens. Truelly brilliant work.
