I am an Industrial / Product Designer based in Poole, Dorset, England. I am also a very keen amateur photographer with interests in landscape and macro disciplines.
I am lucky to be surrounded by some of the most spectacular scenery in the world, notably the world famous Jurassic Coast which stretches from Swanage, Dorset, to Exmouth in East Devon. The Jurassic Coast is one of my favorite places and is best photographed in the winter months. The Jurassic coast features an array of well known locations including, Kimmeridge Bay, Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and Chesil Beach.
My interest in photography started when i received my first DSLR, a Nikon D80, for my 21st birthday in November 2006. Since then I have been trying to dedicate as much time as I possible can with the aim of improving my technique and capturing eye catching photographs that appeal to a wider audience.
Most of my photographic knowledge has been learnt from a close family friend, Adrian Bicker. Adrian possesses a wealth of knowledge and know how which he has very kindly shared with me. Whether it be a question about the effects of Circular Aperture Diffraction or simply what he thinks of a photograph, Adrian always seems to have a valuable insight in to the situation and knows how best to improve the photographic opportunity next time.
I find photography and design extremely complimentary and i regularly take inspiration from one in the other. My designs are regularly influenced by details i have witnessed whilst looking down the lens of my camera, whether it be the smallest detail of an insect or the vibrant colors of a wild orchid. This ability allows me to bring a fresh perspective in to my designs and especially product styling and semantics which is a welcomed break from this extremely fast moving and commercial industry.
