I have taken photos most of my life, I didn't become real serious about it until a friend gave me his old Olympus OM-2n and a few lenses. Once I discovered what was possible when you have full control of aperture and shutter speed, a true love of photography was born. I am mostly self taught, but I feel that I learned most of what I know from reading Bryan Peterson's "Understanding......." series of books. I finally switched to digital in 2010 (and never looked back) when I bought an Olympus E-620. In 2014 I upgraded to an OMD E-M10. My decision to use Olympus was based on two main points: 1) the features they offer in camera and 2) the small size but excellent resolution. I also chose to use Corel Paint Shop Pro for my photo editing needs when I went digital. I felt that it offered me the best "bang for the buck" at the time and now that I know it fairly well, I have no reason to switch to anything else. I later purchased the Topaz Labs plugin suite and now most of my work flow revolves around using their plugins/presets. I find this just makes the whole process faster and I always like the end results. I'm also a die hard PC guy; I don't think I'll ever change that either. I enjoy shooting a wide variety of subjects and I'm almost always looking to try something new or different. I'm always willing to share my techniques with others and even walk them through step by step if they'd like.

I work full time as a Truss Technician doing roof and floor truss design primarily for residential new construction. (These are metal plate connected wood trusses.) When I'm not working, I try to find time to take pictures, edit my pictures, and post some of them here on Flickr. I also try to balance this all out with spending time with family and friends. I try to at least look at everything that everyone I'm following posts everyday. I rarely take the time to comment on photos, not because I don't want to, but because I really honestly don't have time to comment on everything. If someone comments on mine, I will try to respond.
