Every aspect of photography fascinates and inspires me. But most of all, I find my inspiration coming from the medium’s ability to tell a story or to turn a simple, overlooked scene into a work of art. Each of these images capture a different theme. But all are united by one or more of these two aspects. A photos narrative ability has always fascinated me most. In the majority of these images, I’ve strived to tell a clear and concise story. While a few may contain little or no discernible storytelling attributes, they still capture a moment in time in a way many people would never see.
In each photo I’ve enhanced the shadows and highlights beyond how each was captured. By giving the images a stronger contrast, I hoped to accentuate otherwise overlooked details and textures. I feel it’s important to visually represent a scene’s tactile feeling, allowing the viewer to relate a little more to the image.
