Photography allows me to live entirely "in the moment” as I completely engage with my subject through the viewfinder and thereby becoming “one” with it. As a fine art photographer, I endeavor to “see” beyond the apparent, thereby allowing my subject to reveal its distinctive nuances, then attempt to capture them in a singular defining moment. I continue to refine this practice by reading books by noted critics, artists and photographers, shooting alongside talented individuals, participating in critique groups, workshops and classes, and watching documentaries on famous photographers. In this age of digital photo “noise” where literally millions of images are captured on a myriad of devices every minute, my mission is to photograph the truly unique and compelling. Many of my photographs are created by slowing the camera shutter, thus eliciting a view of my subject passing through time and thereby achieving an alternate, intense and surreal perspective
