My name is James M Thorne and I am a freelance photographer and iPhonographer. I started taking pictures at a young age but it wasn’t until my early twenties at university that my real photographic passion developed. In my second year at Brunel University London, I undertook a photography module as part of a Multimedia Design degree and have never looked back. I graduated Brunel University in 2006 with a degree in Multimedia Design and Technology. After realising that a life of web design and computer programming was not for me I pursued a job within the photography world.

In the following years I have had a number of different jobs within the photographic industry, including 2 years as an assistant photographer at the UK’s leading fine art photography studio in London, Prudence Cuming Associates. In my free time I have been documenting social and political demonstrations in and around the UK and have had a number of pictures published in magazines, books and online.

Recently I have embraced a new form of photography, that of iPhoneography. Where pictures are shot, edited and uploaded, all using an Apple iPhone. This has sparked my creativity in new ways and has created a whole new form of photography.

My love, passion and enjoyment of photography grows with each day and I hope through my images on flickr, I can inspire others to pick up a camera and take a look through the view finder.

All images are available for use. If you have any questions regarding my images either for sale, publication, or any questions about photography in general, please feel free to contact me via the email address provided or through flickr.

James Thorne... let's say that again.. James Thorne... because soon we'll be hearing news about him on a enormous magnitude or should I say he will create and move the News; anyway, you better get used to his name! Looking at his photographs one would think that he has been fed with political mind food when he was a baby. He shows us a world that isn't always perfect and his photographs have moved a lot in recent years: they brought attention to important world issues, they mobilised demonstrators, moved hearts and brought people together! Thank you James!

James has a beautiful collection of images, capturing moments with magnificent precision, there’s always something to look at twice on his work regardless the object or person, art is all around this photo stream. I don’t know him as a person very much, but I can say that he is a Flickr Hero for me ;)
