I've been messing around with cameras every since I was a kid, mostly eastern european film SLRs. I did a lot of the photography for Vision, one of the student papers at York Uni, but after graduating I kind of lost interest. Digital cameras reinvigorated my interest and I still use my first digital compact (a Minolta G400). I'd been interested in a digital SLR for a while, and Nikon's D200 represented a milestone for me, being the first camera that I felt was relatively affordable but with the right level of picture quality and features, so I picked one up when they were first released. More recently, I've dabbled in 35mm black and white, and quite fancy doing a little more. I'm slowly trying to move away from taking snap shots to taking beautiful images, but finding the time (and inspiration) can be tricky.
Then in 2010, whilst on a lunch break on a kayaking trip round the south of Harris, I went for a climb and ended up falling 10-20 feet into shallow water. 5 years later, I' hoping to get back into photography, but right now, I'm not allowed to drive, I walk slowly, and still have memory problems.
