In addition to everything else that I am, I am a photographer, and that's a new thing - well, relatively new; I started taking this seriously eight years ago. A dear friend showed me what a good camera could capture should the photographer possess a good eye. I have always been aware of the very real magic in the world, but photography pushed me to pay attention to the smallest details. With a lens, I found new friends, and I began to comprehend the magnitude of the great many things that I would have never seen had I not focused correctly. That is not about a camera. That's about slowing down, bathing in beauty, breathing it in. The most remarkable aspect of the good capture is really about breathing, the surrender, letting the universe in as you put your finger on the shutter release, a thing you will not do do until a welcome and strange alignment occurs, involving stars.
