Shoot what's around you, they said. Shoot your neighbourhood.

But what if you think there is nothing to shoot in your neighbourhood? I live in the suburbs. I'm here for the kids. I'm here because as much as I would have loved it, I didn't think it was practical to move out in the country. I'm here because I couldn't afford to live in the city. When I first moved into my house, I'd turn down a wrong street and not even know it, that's how similar the homes in the neighbourhood are to me. There are big box stores, strip mall plazas and pavement for miles. Everything is manicured, shaped and managed.

So what if you think there is nothing to shoot in your neighbourhood? Well, I couldn't help but think that it could only have said something about myself.

And so that was my challenge. And so out i went.

I prowl around the neighbourhood and try to come to terms with myself.
