I prefer aperture priority or full manual. I love portraiture, but am branching into abstract and macro lately.

I'm more likely to be doing this than working in a studio.

I'm more likely to be trying to photograph someone playing with a frisbee than a baseball.

I'm unconventional.

History:

At first, I learned to shoot on a Mamiya 500DTL. I loved this camera for almost a year until it faded and eventually the shutter gave up. I was later told it had been used by many young photographers before my time, and had taken more pictures than stars in the sky. I mourned the loss of a love too soon. I then found a 1000DTL, and learned the joys of a fast prime lens. I still own this, and use it as often as I can manage.

When the digital direction became more compelling, I used a Canon G9 with a MacBook. I found this a winning combination. I rescued an abused 10D with no autofocus, paired it with a used lens, and fanned the flames of my love for primes.

I found my Argus at a rummage sale for the amount of cash in my pocket. The lightmeter attached was rubbish, and it was covered in grime. I am enamored with this machine, and I love every second I spend cleaning it. Soon it will show me how it sees the world.

Surprise find online was an original Canonet, the first model, with the selenium metering. Lucky me it fires superbly, I was warned otherwise.

I use open source photo editing software exclusively, and a tripod rarely.
