Stephane Lagrange

Hi everybody,

Born in South Africa, raised as a kid in Germany, I grew up in France from a young teenager into my adulthood. Gifted with family all over the western world, I love traveling and discovering new ways and cultures.

When I shoot people I am looking for something very particular: the moment where each and everyone of us reveals his or her inner beauty. I try to catch my models when they're off guard, when they start to relax when they feel safe enough to let the photographer in.

I also try to trigger an emotion within you, the viewer of my photos. Any emotion. If my photos touch you then I've done a good job.

My latest and biggest trip was traveling the eastern world (starting with India and then going through South East Asia) during a sabbatical I took for 5 months at the beginning of 2006.

Thank you for passing by and for your comments, I always appreciate feedback :)

Namaste dear visitor.

What I find so wonderful about Stephane’s work is that you can watch his photography art growing up. You can see his first attempts and then, step by step, the evolution that he is making in almost every picture. I think that is a great privilege to watch an artist begin and then taking the courage to move on and to try different things, to experiment under your eyes. I know for sure that he is gifted for photography. He captures through his lens not only people, but emotions. Every character has a story in his pictures - his friends and even people he met by chance at the Tam Tams. He has a great imagination that makes me wonder every time “how could he think of that?”. Thank you Stephane, for each picture that you put on flickr. And I’m sure that every one that will come will surprise me more and more. Nicole
