Renan Gomes Lemos is a photographer, visual researcher, and digital content creator whose work focuses on photographic coverage, documentary records, and projects that connect image, memory, culture, and technology. Since 2018, he has developed work across artistic, academic, and institutional contexts, with particular attention to Afro-diasporic narratives, territories, and the social processes that shape people and communities.

He is currently an undergraduate student in Portuguese and Spanish Language and Literature at the Federal University of Pelotas (UFPel) and holds international technical training in Freehand Drawing from the University of Lisbon, a foundation that has contributed to the development of a visual language grounded in observation, research, and narrative responsibility. He works as a scholarship holder and collaborator at the Afro-Brazil-South Museum, where he is involved in photographic documentation, visual archive organization, digital museology, and university outreach initiatives.

His photographic work has been featured in exhibitions and institutional projects in different regions of Brazil and internationally. Two of his photographs were included in the Memorial das Águas, presented in the cities of Pelotas and Porto Alegre, as part of both the opening exhibition, themed Volunteering, and the closing exhibition, titled Recovery. A photograph taken on Ilha de Luanda, Angola, was selected for the Black Awareness Month Exhibition at the Legislative Assembly of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, expanding the international dialogue of his work.

In 2025, his work was curated and exhibited at PhotoFluxo, in the city of Rio Grande, featuring photographs produced during his visit to Angola that same year, and was also selected for the Photography Week at the Usina Cultural Energisa, in João Pessoa, Paraíba. During the same period, he was selected for an exhibition at the Blockchain Futurist Conference, held in Florida, United States, strengthening the presence of his work in international contexts that connect art, technology, and innovation. His work has also circulated in events such as NFT.NYC (New York) and TokenNation Brazil, expanding the reach of his visual research.

In the audiovisual field, he worked as executive producer and editor of the documentary O Grande Legado (2018), a project focused on intangible heritage between Brazil and Portugal. This experience strengthened his skills in project management, narrative organization, and editing, reinforcing the dialogue between image, research, and cultural memory.

Renan also participated in Exposição Negra Pelotas, providing technical support for the finalization and printing of photographs produced by students enrolled in the Afro-Brazilian Art and Culture course at UFPel, and is the author of an academic article presented at the 11th SIIEPE, reinforcing his engagement with academic research and knowledge production.

His work in photography and digital content enabled his participation in the national AFROEXT meeting in Brasília, where he was responsible for structuring the presentation slides for AfroExt 053 and for presenting the Afro-Brazil-South Museum to participants from different regions of Brazil. These experiences reflect his commitment to knowledge circulation, institutional communication, and collective learning.

Throughout his career, he has received 50 awards on the Photocrowd platform, 11 awards on ViewBug, and had his work featured four times in 2025 in Flickr’s “Explore” section, expanding his national and international visibility.

Alongside photography, Renan works as a digital content creator and communication professional. He completed the Ilê Tech program (2023) and has professional experience as a copywriter at Web3Dev and a writer at Bankless Brasil, which contributed to the development of strategic writing, storytelling, and the applied use of artificial intelligence in content creation. This background enabled fluency with tools such as ChatGPT and Gemini, as well as the development of a custom tool using Python and Stable Diffusion, exploring creative automation and technical experimentation.

Currently, Renan works in an integrated manner on projects that require technical rigor, aesthetic sensitivity, and adaptability, and is prepared to deliver photographic coverage, documentary records, content production, and visual projects for cultural, academic, institutional, and digital contexts.
