Established for over 30 years, Independent Training Services has trained and developed people in Yorkshire and the Humber developing a strong and successful reputation along the way.

HISTORY

The organisation was founded in 1981 as part of the council for Voluntary Service Employment Initiative. It expanded and developed to such an extent that in 1987 it was decided that a separate limited company needed to be formed which became Barnsley Youth Development Association.

In 1988, the company applied for, and was granted, charitable status and became known as BYDA. In April 2002 the company name was changed to Independent Training Services.

Our core business in centred on the training of people in a variety of vocational areas. In addition, we offer support and guidance with Functional Skills, Job Search, Personal Development and other related issues.

We have a dedicated team of staff who have been chosen for their ability to work with learners who have a wide range of academic achievements.

All our staff hold relevant vocational and training qualifications and specialise in employer based assessment, vocational training, numeracy, literacy and quality improvement.
