istoica is the collective name of photographers Chris Altorf and Jessica Hayes.

 

Their photographic and video work primarily focuses on fashion and editorial.

One thing I never realized about isto-ica is how much she loves to eat pickles. We went to this one flickr meet-up thing and there she was eating pickles out of the jar (by the hand full). I think they were the sweet kind, but I noticed she had a jar of baby dill in her purse. Her and her boyfriend gave me a ride home that night in their converted "Bicks" pickle-shapped truck. I couldn't get the smell of vinegar out of my clothing.

I met Isto and Ica on a stormy night, while the power was out, under an overpass, in Delaware... and I had forgotten my jacket. It was a night of intensity that I'll never know again... their pictures are all I have now. *heavy sigh* ;)
