I wanted to be a photographer when I grew up. This was back when I was 13. I learned how to shoot and develop at a summer camp and I fantasized about working for National Geographic. Reality hit around 15-16 and I knew I couldn't make it as a professional photographer. I put down my camera for about 7 years, picking it up every so often to document my travels.
Sometime in early 2009, I decided that I needed to pick photography back up. I learned a little bit of photoshop while working as a camp counselor (ironically at the same place I learned photography originally) and now I do it for the right reasons.
Right after I rediscovered photography, I moved to Pittsburgh to pursue my Graduate Degree. While in Pittsburgh, I started capturing events at local nightclubs. Then, started doing portrait work for local artists. 2 years later I photographed my first wedding and now I photograph several a year along with my portrait work and event coverage. Seems like my dream of becoming a photographer came true. Truth be told, I still couldn't survive on it alone and it's not half as glamorous as it sounded when I was 13, but it is very fulfilling.
If you want a print, message me. I'll do any 8x10 for $20 including shipping. Or, maybe we can do a trade if you have something I like!

dave has a great touch on photography, probably echoing his childhood affection with the wonder that is the camera.
