If your are wondering about my red beany.... Menneskeverd, a knitted red hat, was a symbol of the Norwegian resistance movement during its occupation by the Nazis in World War II. Minnesotan knitters, many of whom are descendants of these Norwegians, have revitalized this symbol representing human worth and unity.
