About her watercolors:
Iris Kovalio's paintings from nature are comparable to meditation with open eyes: a continuous exercise of pure, non-reflective observation, of looking at a house, tree, mountain, trail, with no conceptual prejudgment.
Here, color and shape are chosen through immediate intuition, through the experience of the open space's composition, and through flowing with the ever-changing light and shapes.
My Art:
I am a painter, usually working with watercolors on different paper backgrounds, like medicine packages. The images are dealing with my childhood through different relationships with body & feminine, spiritual and cultural issues. Some times I combine writing with my images or working with poetry of others. Frequently I use my hair as a drawing.
My art work is about research of my body & mind, truth & fantasy, shape & essence, pain & bliss.
