"David Aimone is one of my favourite fine art photographers and I visit his portfolio again and again for inspiration. Whether using film or digital capture, lens or lensless - his compositions always work. His sense of when to press the shutter is innate, as is his appreciation of light. David Aimone is incredibly versatile. Equally adept at capturing the most stunning land/seascapes as he is with controlled environment still life and portraiture, David has a particular talent for beauty, nude and figure studies all of which demonstrate his ability to work easily and naturally with his models. He is able to make a 'connection' with his subject which comes through to the final image. Not everyone can achieve this. David's versatility extends to the range of different techniques he has mastered and there is no variation in the high quality of his images whether they are produced by alternative printing techniques, large or medium format cameras, simple wooden pinhole or zone plate cameras or the latest digital technology.
