“In The Clinch” was originally created in 2007 as the feature MMA blog for both ESPN1033.com (Dallas, TX) and ESPN710.com (Los Angeles, CA). ITC eventually became the sole MMA report for ESPNDallas.com and was ultimately featured on ESPN.com.

Lead blogger, Andrew Plante, decided to put MMA blogging aside in 2011. After several years in “retirement”, Plante has been unable to keep quite about the state (and apparent decline!) of the sport of MMA and so ITC has been re-birthed in its present form!
