In March of 2006, I discovered photography. I’ve always been a fan of the majesty that is the Pacific Northwest and I see things in color. I’m mesmerized by color and drawn to the landscapes and sunsets. Most of the pictures I have taken are located near and around Whatcom County, WA. The sunset pictures are often from the vantage of Bellingham, WA.

In 2007, I decided to enter the City of Bellingham’s photography contest and won an honorable mention award, which inspired me to continue my passion. In 2008, I re-entered and won two Best of Awards, for Best Color/Shape/Texture and Weather.

One of the things photography has taught me is patience - though my children would probably disagree. I sometimes feel like a hunter waiting in a blind for that perfect moment to click the shutter...

And like the hunter I must be patient and withdraw into myself waiting...

Until that moment, unexpected if not unplanned, when it is the right time to click the shutter and capture the object of my hunt. With luck I bring home a trophy: one worth sharing.

So here I am sharing my captures with you. Walk with me through the environs of the Pacific Northwest where my ancestors tread so many centuries before and see the world through my eyes. I hope you enjoy the journey.
