Just a little about me...

I was born in 1985 in Lisbon, Portugal, and still live in the area where I’m currently studying Fashion Design with future perspectives in Costume Design.

I find it difficult to talk about my work and style. I’m a self-taught amateur photographer that discovered photography a lot by coincidence back in 1992 when my father gave me a point-and-shoot film Canon camera. I used it a lot for a few months until I shamely lost it. I bought another câmera, but was not the same and the interest vanished. It was a few years ago that I started using a Yashica Electro 35 that my mother tried to keep away from me (probably afraid I might break or lose that one too). Curiosity and monetary issues led me to my first SLR digital câmera but the passion for film kept growing and since then I’ve been collecting some precious câmeras to me.

My inspiration? Everything! Sometimes I develop a visiono of what I want long before shooting it, other times I simply follow my instinct and opportunities. I really like to explore new possibilities and techniques, prefering the use of natural lighting when possible.

I admire the work of many photographers such as Helmut Newton, Ellen Von Unwerth and Man Ray, only to name a few. Wish I could reach their level one day, by now I still have a lot to explore, I’m only a learner.
