Initiative Science was founded in 2001. In its inaugural year, the organization engaged a modest 50 participants. Today, 2,500+ students, teachers and staff members from educational institutions throughout Metropolitan Detroit and Toledo, partake in the innovative programming it has to offer. Additionally, I.S. provides internships for those who have science degrees and would like to contribute to advancing interdisciplinary initiatives related to their field. Future goals include, the contribution of funding for primary scientific research and the creation of strategic alliances to protect the interests of the organization and the surrounding community.
