I first bumped into JC and his photos back in 1998. He was walking out of Snappy Snaps just as I was walking in. Neither of us was looking where we were going and went for same door simultaenously, unfortunately resulting in his photos being scattered in a large dirty puddle on the Canon Street pavement. He's never spoken to me since, but I've remained a firm fan of his work. JC's contribution to buddy icon development makes him one of Flickr's 'imortals'. That and being a distant nephew of the Norse god Odin.

JC has for some time been in hiding on the island of Muscat after a misunderstanding involving a model, a box of flower bulbs and a double bass, which brought his career as a celebrity chef and tabloid favourite to a prompt end. He was famously credited with the invention of the monkey. The ineffable, inestimable JC has a great eye for a picture, a good visual sense of humour, and is above all a lovely bloke. He is available for weddings and bar mitzvahs. He doesn't get out of bed for less than a packet of Revels and the promise of a kiss.
