I am a retired Army Veteran and I live close to Tampa Bay. I have been into the photography arts, as a hobby, for around 5 years, and only recently have I begun to take it more seriously, as a profession. I enjoy taking nature, urban and rural landscape stills. I prefer the challenge of shooting in the natural light of the outdoors, without the use of a reflector, diffuser, or flash. The Nikon z5 I had, has been retired, due to pixel density issues I encountered when shooting in DX mode. I use Nikon z7ii, for my camera body. And, I have the following lenses for capturing various scenes: Tamron 50-400mm F/4.5-6.3, Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8, Nikon Nikkor z 105mm F/2.8 VR S.

Photography from my perspective.

As a photographer, when I put the camera in my hand, I become the proverbial observer. I refrain from manipulation of the environment. Why? Because removing things that appear naturally or altering the scene is not the role of an observer. Such is the role of a manipulator or someone who wrote a script. Instead, as an observer, I will think of a possible composition, and then wait for potential subjects to cross into it. The natural light may or may not cooperate when this happens. However, I do not fret over this, instead I will attempt to recapture the composition until it is right and I, as the observer, am satisfied.
