A question has been left unanswered by me for quite some time now - why do I do what I do? (If that makes any bit of sense). When my camera is cradled in the palms of my hands, I feel a sense of comfort. When I hear the shutter within the core and heart of the camera, a surge of energy rushes through my body. I love the concept that you can record a moment in time with a single photograph. I feel that it doesn’t take a “quality photo” to be considered a piece of art. It takes a unique mindset to allow the piece to envelop them so they can truly feel its essence.
I suppose that the camera itself is part of me.
Considering that I am still in school, I have no high school diploma or college degree. All I can do is look to the future for now. I currently hold a 3.8 GPA, and plan to keep this, if not improve it, as I finish high school. In college I plan to study photography, photo journalism, art history, business, English literature, and communication. A few years ago, I was featured in a Best of 2009 photo book. I have photographed a few, small, local events, and hope to continue this. I have also been fortunate enough to be a photographer for the talented duo Matt and Kim.
