If ever a Russian nobleman deserved a hug, it was Count Orlof.

Because, back in 1768, Orlof made a vital contribution to huggable snuggable skin. He inspired the Imperial Leather we all know and love today.

Sentimental chap that he was, Orlof commissioned a scent from Bayleys of Bond Street – a London perfumery – that was reminiscent of the Russian court.

When Cussons bought Bayleys nearly 150 years later, that was the fragrance we chose to use in our new soap. Mindful of the history, we originally named the soap Imperiale Russian Leather.

And so Imperial Leather – the luxurious, ivory-coloured bar with the unique inset badge – was born. Soon to become famous the world over.

We've come a long way since then. Although our classic soap is largely unchanged, we have a host of other ways you can thoroughly indulge yourself.

Whether you're after invigoration or relaxation, our vast range of shower and bath toiletries will give you precisely what you need. Including huggable snuggable skin, of course.
