I love photographing people with special needs. There are wonderful stories to be told, a lot of these stories can be told through their eyes.
My favorite shots are usually close ups of kids faces.I shoot all digital, currently using a Nikon D300 and a Nikon D200 along with a variety of lenses. My favorite lens is my Nikon 17-55mm 2.8; it has top notch optics producing rich and vibrant colors.
Though I have been involved with photography for over 20 years, my style has really evolved in the past couple of years into a very photojournalistic style; I really enjoy the up close with a story behind it image.
About my photography background: In 1983, at the age of 14, I was given an Argus C44, 35mm, rangefinder camera. Included were 3 lenses: A 28mm, 50mm and 100mm. What was not included was any light meter.
Over the years, I have learned photography from the ground up, including hand developing film and hand printing both color and B&W. I have shot with 35mm, medium and large format cameras. I have photographed weddings, portraits, corporate events and various other things over the years including some catalog work.
Early in 2003, I purchased my first DSLR; the Fuji S2. In October of 2003, I shot my first "digital" wedding. Though I had planned on shooting only the candids digital and staying with medium format for the ceremony and formals, the bride begged for all digital, so that is what she got.
So, there were a few "troubled" images, but all in all, it went well. Since then, I have been 100% digital. A list of my major gear is below.
All images in my sets are created by me unless otherwise stated. Also, if you add any of my images as your favorites and you have no public images, you will be blocked. I just blocked a user who had several of my children images, along with many other children images, marked as their favorites. I have more images that are F&F, if you want to be added as a friend, please flickrmail me.
