Moderator for Flickr group Canon on a Budget. If you're just getting started in the world of DSLR remember, it's more about lighting and settings than it is about the camera. Ignore the elitist who tells you that you need to spend $1000 + on a lens "if you really want to get great shots" -just not true. Take a Rebel, a kit lens and a cheap non-dedicated flash...know the right settings (in M or AV) and you can get some amazing shots...spend slightly more for an 85mm F/1.8 or a 100mm F/2.0 and again you'll be shooting like the pros.
